Course Overview In this seminar students will acquire and develop the practical specialist knowledge and skills needed for research in the field of Japanese humanities, including archaeology, art history, cultural history, history, literature, and religious studies. After laying the foundation by reviewing style and writing requirements, learning how to analyze an essay and create and annotate a bibliography, and other research skills, students will present their work in written and oral forms. Seminar activities include class discussions, the completion of an online course, and attending student presentations and (guest) lectures. All students are required to attend every guest lecture unless otherwise noted.
