Ontology asks the question "What is there?", while Metaontology investigates the question "What are we asking when we ask 'What is there?' ?" This course starts with Quine's "standard view" and then examines some contemporary metaontolgies, including fictionalism, meinongianism, and neo-carnapianism. |
