Course Overview |
We will study the different forms and functions of image in poetry. Wefll try to understand the issues of metaphor, comparison, personification or allegories through the main works of the French Literature, from various movements : Pléiade, Classicism, Romanticism, Parnasse, Symbolism and Surrealism. Elected steps will be an Ode by Ronsard, a tale from La Fontaine, a extract from Victor Hugo, pieces of poetry from Rimbaud, Théophile Gautier, Baudelaire or André Breton. This course will also allow us to see French poetry and verse rules, and to encourage the writing of poetic texts. |
