Course Overview	This lecture focuses on the various modes of touching and entering into the painting in medieval and renaissance Italy by analyzing especially the works of religious subjects by Florentine and Sienese painters, in order to understand that the most important condition of the appreciation of art, that is the distance, is a later invention by modern theoreticians of art.
