Course Overview The main work of the Ming dynasty Confucian scholar Xue Xuan (Jingxuan), "Dushulu" is a valuable resource for understanding the thought of Zhu Zi, as it reveals profound insights into Zhu Zi studies. It is also an important work for understanding the East Asian study of Zhu Zi, as it had a great influence on Confucian scholars not only in China but also in Korea and the Edo period. In this seminar, students will deepen their understanding of Xue Xun and Zhu Zi studies through a close reading of "Dushulu" .
