Course Overview |
This course is designed to provide middle-level undergraduates with an overview of the major psychological theories and their related research on human cognitive development. The topics to be covered will be as follows: (1) What human development is and (2) the major theories on cognitive development, namely, (a) Piaget's stage theory, (b) information processing approaches, (c) core knowledge theories, (d) sociocultural theories, and (6) other (e.g., social development theories, such as attachment). |
