Course Overview

This class aims to improve students' listening, reading, and writing skills in English with the textbook including DVD. The textbook of this class is 'Seeing the World through the News (Kinseido Publishing),' which contains visual materials from BBC (British Broadcasting Cooperation) News. Students can improve their listening, reading, and writing skills through viewing the attached DVD as well as writing exercises. Through BBC News, students can get accustomed to the natural speed of British English spoken by native speakers. This class will include the following activities: 1) preview of the textbook, 2) submission of English compositions, 3) working on the exercises (reading and listening, etc.), 4) translation into Japanese.
