Course Overview For this course we will be reading John Edgar Wideman's Philadelphia Fire, which more or less originates from the Move Bombing in Philadelphia. Wideman is one of the most lauded African-American writers, with two Pen/Faulkner Awards as well as other honors. This course aims to improve discussion of literary texts in English and to examine the developments in U.S. literature and culture in the late 20th century.
