Course Overview For this course we will be reading Thomas Pynchon’s first novel V. Through this we will look at certain tropes and ways of seeing the world that are present in his longer works such as Gravity’s Rainbow, Mason & Dixon and Against the Day.. We will examine how he structures works and his influence on American Literature. This course aims to improve discussion of literary texts in English and to examine the developments in U.S. literature and culture in the late 20th century.
