Course Overview Economics has been substantially changing its subject matter and methodology since the mid 20th century. This course aims at closely looking at this dynamic process. Along the way, we will ask such questions as:
What the proper subject matter of economics is;
How the economic concepts have been developed; and
How economics is related with our social practice.
The class will involve discussion of these issues among the participants, who are therefore requested to read the relevant part of the textbook before coming to the class.
By completing the course, students will be able to understand the current developments in economics as well as to express their significance in the framework of philosophy.
