Course Overview This lecture course examins maritime history of East Asia in from the mid 14th to the early 16th centuries, with focusing the topics such as the fourteenth century crisis, maritime prohibitio/ tribute trade system of the Ming, expedition of Zheng He's fleet, trade network centerd with Malacca, intermediary trade of Ryukyu Kingdom, and appearence of the portuguese Power.
