Course Overview This course aims at learning the basic ideas of historical-comparative linguistics, such as the regularity hypothesis, lexical diffusion and variation theory, through lecture and solving problem sets. Students learn how to identify and analyze phonological, morphological and syntactic changes in the history of world's languages.
