Course Overview The concept of "motivation" has important role for understanding children's learning, development, and human well-being. How is motivation shaped and promoted? Also, in what circumstances and situations do motivation decline? This class will examine various theories about motivation, such as hierarchy of needs theory, causal attribution theory, and achievement goal theory, etc. We will discuss and learn about some basic concepts of motivation, and how motivation relate to interpersonal relationships and better school adaptation.
