Course Overview •This lecture course focuses on Miyako-no-nishiki who was a first of Ukiyo-zoshi writer depending on the cooperation of publishers in Kyoto at the beginning of the 18th century. His appearance means the birth of Ukiyo-zoshi author produced by publishers in the history of Japanese literature. We consider the environment surrounding the author, especially the relationship between publishers and author.
