Course Overview Modernity/modernities in the evolution of poetry from the 19th century to the 20th. Charles Baudelaire or Walter Benjamin have played a great role in the conceptualization of the notion of gmodernityh. Wefll study major texts written by these authors and confront them to more recent ones, as Antoine Compagnonfs who showed that modernity cannot be simplified to a unique definition. Those forms of modernity will be analyzed in relation to the evolution of poetry through the 19th and the 20th centuries.
