Žö‹Æ‚ÌŠT—v The course provides an introduction to phonetics. Students will practice analysing and transcribing speech using phonetic symbols. Various aspects that are involved in the production of the sounds – in particular English sounds – will be investigated in detail. A particular focus will also be given to the differences between the sounds of English and Japanese. In doing so, students will learn to identify many of their own weaknesses in English pronunciation. Through active participation and practice, students should see an improvement in their own pronunciation of English.
