Neo-Confucianismhas had a profound influence not only on China, but also on the East Asian world, including Korea and Japan. It is impossible to discuss the world of East Asian thought in the pre-modern era without mentioning Neo-Confucianism. In this lecture, we will discuss how Neo-Confucianism was introduced to Japan, how it developed, and what influence it had on Japan. |
