Course Overview Surrealism will be studied from different perspectives as given by different authors: Breton, Tzara, Aragon, Eluard, Péret, Desnos, Artaud and Leiris. While studying these texts we shall take into consideration the artistic context and the painters that created them: De Chirico, Ernst, Magritte, Miro and Dali. Art shall be envisioned as a revolutionary performance of love and of gthe objectified fortuneh; we will also explore the gautomatic writingh and the growing role of psychoanalysis in the literary process. The surrealist writing practice takes an important role and will be one of the main topics, studied through the prism of literary games and the metamorphosis of the image.
