「日本を知るためのプログラム」(JICA開発大学院連携プログラム)
“Understanding Japan” (A Collaboration with the JICA Development Studies Program)

• 九州大学人文科学府では、2019年10月よりJICA留学生などが、日本の近代化の経験を幅広い視点から学ぶための授業を開始しました。授業科目は「日本学」と「近現代日本社会入門」です。 「日本学」では、日本をより深く理解するための基礎的知識の習得を目的として、近現代日本の開発の歴史と同時に、その前提となる前近代日本の歴史、文化、宗教、美術についても学びます。 「近現代社会入門」では、近代化に成功した近現代日本の特徴を、より俯瞰的な視点から理解するための知識や考え方の習得を目的として、明治期以降の政治構造、行政組織、経済成長、都市開発、文化変容、社会問題などについて学びます。
• Since October 2019, the graduate school of humanities is providing two courses for international students enrolled at Kyushu University through the JICA Development Studies Program (JICA-DSP). The courses are titled “Introduction to Japanese Studies” and “Introduction to Modern Japanese Society”. They aim to provide students with broad knowledge about the modernization of Japan since the mid-19th century. “Introduction to Japanese Studies” provides basic knowledge as the foundation for a deeper understanding of Japan. Besides Japan’s modern development, it also covers the history, culture, religion, and art of premodern Japan. “Introduction to Modern Japanese Society” covers politics, administration, economic development, urbanization, cultural changes, and social problems in Japan after 1868. It provides students with the knowledge and understanding necessary to accurately assess the characteristics of Japan’s successful modernization and its outcome.
