Course Overview

This class aims to provide JICA students at Kyushu University with historical knowledge about various aspects of Japanese modern society, such as politics, economy, industry, urbanization, and culture, etc. It offers fifteen lectures co-taught by members of the Faculty of Humanities: Yu YANG and Sven KRAMER.
This class is open to JICA students and all other graduate students. Undergraduates are very welcome to audit.

Additional Information regarding Evaluation Method : Attendance: Successful participants must attend at least 10 out of the 15 classes provided this semester
Classes are given by video-on-demand. Some classes might also be given in person on Ito Campus(lecture room 2015, Center Zone) at the discretion of each professor in charge
Videos are made available on the dates given on the table in the previous slides
Every class requires you to fill in and submit a small task via moodle
The time you have for each class is one week, from the Wednesday the video gets online until the end of the next Tuesday
Your attendance will be counted when you submit the small tasks on time
Grading:
Grades are based on a scale from 0 to 100 points
You will automatically get 50 points for the minimum attendance of 10 classes
The other 50 points will be based on the accumulated points of every small task you submit
The minimum of points for finishing this course successfully is 60
